Your chance to win a great Swiss-themed Christmas prize!

20th December 2016

your chance to win

First out of the prize stocking is a copy of The Gustav Sonata by Rose Tremain. This is undoubtedly one of our very best reads of 2016. It gets beneath the skin of Swiss society and describes the three movements of the ‘sonata’ covering the lives of Gustav and Anton as they grow together and apart – emotional and challenging. Next, there is a copy of The Montana Stories by Katherine Mansfield. This is a brilliant collection of short stories written in 1921 in Chalet des Sapins in what is now Crans Montana above Sierre, whilst she was seriously ill with TB. In her imagination she was elsewhere, in London, the South of France and New Zealand. She was only 32.

Then, a copy of Marco Polo’s insightful guide to Switzerland – full of Insider Tips and ideas. Just what you need to plan your trip.

And finally, to munch as you read, a few Swiss chocolates and caramels!

To enter the competition, and win all four prizes, all you have to do is write in the Comments box below the name of the one place in Switzerland you would most like to visit in 2017. It’s that easy!

The competition closes at midnight UK time on Friday 30th December – and the winner will be the first name out of the hat on Saturday 31st.

The very best of luck!

I went to Geneva about 50 years ago and as we were on a very tight budget all we could afford to eat at a restaurant was mushrooms on toast! It would be wonderful to go back and afford to pick something a lot more interesting off the menu!

I know so little about Switzerland! But looking at google maps, I’d say Geneva and lac leman, as its near French-speaking parts, and the Matterhorn–from a safe distance!
