GIVEAWAY – 3 copies of A Mother’s Christmas Wish – RYHOPE (Sunderland)

20th November 2022

We are delighted to be able to offer 3 copies of A Mother’s Christmas Wish by Glenda Young, set in Ryhope (Sunderland) in the 1920s.

UK ONLY.

3 copies of A Mother's Christmas Wish

I hope this Christmas is better than last year’s.’

Following a scandalous affair, wayward Emma Devaney is sent in disgrace from her home in Ireland to Ryhope, where she will live with her widowed aunt, Bessie Brogan, and help run her pub. Bessie is kind but firm, and at first Emma rebels against her lack of freedom. Struggling to fit in, she turns to the wrong person for comfort, and becomes pregnant.

Accepting she must embrace her new life for the sake of her baby, Emma pours her energy into making the pub thrive and helping heal the fractured relationship between Bessie and her daughters. She catches the attention of Robert, a gruff but sincere farmer, who means to win her heart.

As December approaches, thankful for the home and acceptance she’s found, Emma is determined to bring not just her family, but the whole Ryhope community, together to celebrate – and to make one very special mother’s Christmas dreams come true.

As our children and grandchildren all live over 100 miles from us and we are getting too old to travel to see them all at Christmas. It would be wonderful to be able to hire somewhere that could fit us all in for a few days and cater for a big family Christmas dinner and tea…….just not on Christmas Day as we all feel the same that there is no place like home on the big day itself. Skype helps us to stay connected.

That our daughters mortgage for the house her and her boyfriend in france comes through quickly- they are waiting on the french tax authorities who are ultra slow, then she can come over for Christmas as she originally wanted to do, but as it stands they cannot because of the french tax office dragging their feet in giving the relevant information to the mortgage bank

My Christmas wish would be, that after having treated just about all of our respective immediate family members to at least one seasonal holiday in Disney World Florida, we had the means to make one last trip as a giant group (20), including our young great niece and great nephew and my very elderly mother-in-law. We all enjoyed such happy times at a Magical Disney Christmas!
