In the charming Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough, a killer game is being played . . .
Helen Dexter is enjoying the new four-star status of the Seaview Hotel. But she begins to wonder if this accolade is cursed when a series of disasters strike.
It starts when a crazy golf team arrive to play in a Scarborough tournament. Their odd behaviour heightens when the rival team captain turns up. Yet, there’s worse to come for Helen when one of the guests is murdered playing crazy golf.
Then the Seaview’s prize-winning cook Jean quits, leaving Helen devastated. And so, as Helen’s fiftieth birthday approaches, the last thing she’s in the mood for is a celebration. However, mysterious invitations arrive to a party that Helen doesn’t want.
Can Helen unmask the crazy golf killer, save the reputation of the Seaview, win Jean back and solve the mystery of the party invitations? With her rescue greyhound Suki by her side, Helen Dexter is on the case.

Well, we can pretty much experience all seasons in one day, so never boring!
I like the promenade with all the amusement arcades and shops.
Walking along the promenade.
Donkey rides along the beach
Having an ice cream.
Swimming in the sea.
The fish and chips!
Reading
Long walks along a beach where people are few and far between, paddling and listen to the noise of the sea. My favourite being Cefyn Sidan at Pembrey, South Wales.
Here on the Pembrokeshire coast we have so many lovely beaches, all offering something different. My favourite is Barafundle and on a beautiful Summer day you would think you were in the Caribbean
fish and chips, hot donuts and of course crazy golf
Fish and chips with popcorn – we may not always have the weather but these always bring a smile
Fish and chips are always better at the seaside.
I always loved the amusements, especially the machines with the 2p coins which would fall over.
Love the Yorkshire coast!
No huge queues at the airports!
Come rain or shine you will find me in the SEA!! Many thanks
The best thing about a seaside holiday is swimming in the sea and spending time with those you love
No Flying, No currency exchange, NHS available, no language problems, no vaccinations needed. No problem if emergency in some way happens that mean return to home. No Visa needed. No Travel Insurance needed. No problems with Diet etc. I could go on and on.
The smell of the sea air
Best thing about a British beach holiday is eating fish and chips! (and being attacked by seagulls….)
I love British beach holidays because all the resorts are charmingly different and unique
The sound of the sea , rock pools, and fish and chips
Fish & Chips
The best thing about a British beach holiday is watching people having fun on the beach. Also, hunting for shells and interesting things that have been washed ashore. Oh and feeling a sense of achievement every time you manage to avoid stepping on a jellyfish while walking on the beach!
Lazing in a deck chair watching people having so much fun
We have some beautiful beaches in Britain & getting to them is much easier than travelling so far afield.
The sea in the Hebrides is so white and clean and the sea is such a beautiful turquoise, it’s amazing. You don’t need to travel abroad for stunning beaches
I love the seaside towns, especially the arcades, little gift shops and cafes overlooking the beach
Beautiful coastline
The best thing about a British beach holiday is it has all the best things fish n chips, sand sea views and it’s on our doorsteps
The best thing is eating a big, messy ice-cream on the promenade.
Walking along the beach followed by eating fish and chips overlooking the sea. Then a walk along the front then finding a cench to sit and eat donuts.
The best things about the British holidays are fish and chips out of paper, and the ability to get to the coast relatively easily no matter where you reside.
Fish and chips
Gem of the East Coast
The best thing about a British beach holiday is sitting on the beach with my family eating fish and chips.
eating fish & chips on the beach
British beach holidays can be a bit hit and miss with the weather, but if you have nice sunny weather it is certainly a holiday to treasure.
I love to see the children playing in the chilly water while enjoying the scenery.
A 99 ice cream and a stick of rock
The tasty seaside food, like fish n chips or donuts!
Fabulous coastal walks and stunning scenery.
Getting home again and tipping half a ton of sand from your shoes
A British holiday is special because (when the sun shines) we have lovely beaches and everything is familiar to us.
The surprise gems you stumble across. And the trashy bingo and arcades!
The good ol unpredictable weather, british traditions such as fish n chips on the harbour wall whilst dodging seagulls and the quaint little seaside shops that you can discover whilst exploring.
It is lovely to be eating fish and chips or an ice-cream walking on the beach, in the sun and watching people enjoying themselves.
It’s the easy accessible nature on your doorstep.
Always went to Scarborough as a child and now live close by. British beach holidays are great, smell of the sea, freezing water to swim in and some pristine beaches to lap up the sun sorry rain. Seriously I love it
Dipping your feet in the sea for a paddle
The smell !
The walk along the seafront eating fish and chips
What is the BEST thing about a British beach holiday?
its utter unpredictability!!
I love passing the traditions down to my daughter that I did with my mum and dad. Fish & Chips, ice cream, paddling in the waves and having a little flutter in the amusements
Our weather is so changeable that the sea view is constantly changing, stormy and dramatic one day, still and peaceful the next. I can spend hours watching the sea. In most other countries it’s too predictable
Being able to explore and see the widely different areas and regions of our beautiful country and trying many of the local specialty dishes.
The sounds and smells and the fresh air.
Beautiful beaches
Relaxing in the sun with a good book.
Walking on the beach, a bracing swim in the sea, fish and chips for tea, and a stick of rock to take home!
Grew up living near the beach – although shingle I enjoyed walks along the promenade, ice creams, sandy sandwiches, buckets and spades, dipping toes in freezing water. Special memories.
No hassle in getting there. Lovely beaches to walk along and fish and chips at the end of the day – brilliant.
I love all the memories that are evoked from the smells of waffles, the sound of our native seabirds and the cold, oh so cold seawater on my toes! Scarborough is a favourite resort that we’ve visited since I was a baby!
A good old British breakfast and a decent cup of tea lol!
The best thing about a British beach holiday is not having to go through any airports to get there.
The familiarity of everything makes it a relaxing experience and there are many superb venues with plenty of activities
Love walking our dogs on the beach
Eating Fish and chips on the seafront
British beach holidays are full of tradition and happy childhood memories – both from the past and also for the future. Glorious coastline views and fabulous food, not least fish and chips.
British fish and chips from a takeaway, eaten in a secluded spot to avoid the seagulls bothering me – preferably on a rocky outcrop where I can watch and listen to the waves crashing onto the shoreline! 🙂
Making Sandcastles on the Beach.
I love having fish and chips after a long walk along the beach.
The sea views, never the same two days running.
Fish and chips on the prom ! Love this series btw x
