GIVEAWAY – 3 copies of Haunted Magpie set in MALLORCA
7th March 2021
We are delighted to offer 3 copies of Haunted Magpie by Anna Nicholas, a mystery set in MALLORCA.
And very pleased to say that this giveaway is open worldwide!
Eccentric, headstrong and engaging, Isabel Flores Montserrat is a cross between a highly charged Precious Ramotswe (The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency) & Phyrne Fisher (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries).
When 33-year-old Isabel Flores Montserrat quits a promising career with the Spanish police to run her mother’s holiday rentals agency in rural Mallorca, it seems that her crime-fighting days are far behind. Basking in the Mediterranean sunshine with pet ferret, Furo, she indulges her passion for local cuisine, swimming in the sea and raising her pampered hens. However, when a young florist goes missing, Isabel is once again seconded by the National Police to help solve the mystery. Meanwhile, trouble is brewing in her own village with a sinister spate of animal disappearances. When another islander vanishes, Isabel and the local police chief, Tolo Cabot, must hunt a potential serial killer using their unorthodox investigative skills. With the clock ticking, they urgently need to find answers and restore harmony to the island once more.

I’d love to wander around Almudaina Palace in the shade and eat seafood and drink local wine… but to be honest after months of lockdown it all sounds pretty spectacular
Tumbet-a Mallorcan type of ratatouille was a memorable part of a meal, as was their local wine- but away from the coast the roads and scenic mountains are fabulously scented with thyme and rosemary. An island paradise.
I’d love to go back to Playa Blanca an watch the boats coming in and out of the harbour while drinking a cheeky G&T
I’d love to go to a beach in Mallorca and try all the local foods!
Any seafood, sitting by the sea with a glass of chilled vino
I would love to sit by the pool with a good book, a cocktail and some amazing tapas. But for now I would settle with a good book!
Hear the sea food is delicious in
mallorca – love to experience first hand
To go back and visit chopins house. Remember visiting as a child. Sunsets were beautiful.
Oh for a sunny holiday! I’d love to see the Catedral de Mallorca, it looks absolutely stunning.
Visit the Caves of Drach
I have heard the beaches are fabulous there.
I have never been. It’s on my list of places yet to visit. I’d like to go off the tourist beaten track & find the hidden gems & eat like a local.
Hello, I would love to try Churros in Malloca. I haven’t eaten them before but they are meant to be really tatsy, especially with chocolate sauce. Lovely!
I don’t know much about Mallorca apart from it being a mass market holiday destination, but I’ve heard that away from the resorts it’s a very beautiful place so i would like to explore off the beaten track.
I would like to eat a huge platter of seafood paella!
I would love to return to Mallorca – this was my first holiday abroad years ago. I’d love to go back to Palma – all I can remember is travelling on a very crowded bus to get there! I can’t remember anything that I ate!
Would like to soak up the atmosphere and eat tapas
I’d like to just soak up the sun and be able to go swimming ….
My daughter & I took the lovely little train ride from Palma to Soller while the other girls shopped.
Beautiful rural scenery, & so peaceful.
We ate bread, cheese & olives & drank beer with the locals in a small bar before heading back to the city….magical!
I’d like to visit Palma. I went there as a child but I can’t remember much about the place so I’d love to revisit it as an adult! As for the cuisine, I’d like to try Mero a la mallorquina as I like fish and vegetables.
I would like to visit the house where Robert Graves lived in Deia.
I’d be tucking into Ensaïmada with some freshly brewed coffee x
I’d love to go on a tour to the Caves of Hams, Pearl Factory.
Soak up the sun, speak spanish with the locals, hike along the coastlines, explore the old towns with fresh food markets sampling cheese and cured meats…
