Well I was supposed to be visiting Dracula’s castle in Romania, but alas my friend booked flights to Bratislava rather than Bucharest (“they both begin with a B” was the excuse) – so now I am looking forward to visiting Bratislava Castle…

The Ceausescu Palace in Romania, my daughter & son-in-law visited and told me of its wasteful luxury. Beautiful but horrifying.

The French castle Château de Chenonceau in Chenonceaux is somewhere I visited as a child and would love to visit again.
Bojnice Castle in Bojnice, Slovakia looks stunning and is definitely on my to visit list.

We regularly travel past Sterling Castle on our holidays and I’ve always wanted to visit but never have. Maybe this year!

We have so many wonderful castles and palaces here in the UK. One that I would particularly like to visit is Windsor Castle as it always looks stunning on the TV.
I’ve always wanted to visit the Aragonese Castle, Ischia, Italy. Beautiful setting and gardens, and a torture museum for historical interest!

The Forbidden City – have been once but would like to revisit.
Despite growing up in Germany, never been to Neu Schwanstein. Would love to visit there.
We are lucky enough to have visited and lived close by, to many castles over the years, across many parts of the UK.
I would however love to return to Hampton Court Palace, which I visited when I was a very small child, so can’t really remember all that well.
If I had a dream place to visit though, it would probably be the Palace of Versailles, we just didn’t get time when we were last in France. I love formal gardens, so alongside the grandeur of the Palace, that would make my trip. 🙂

I’d like to visit the fairytale castle Neuschwanstein in Germany. The castle in Bavaria was built by order of King Ludwig II and was the inspiration for the Disney Cinderella castle.
I would love to go to Bangkok to see the Grand Palace which was built in 1782 and was home to the Thai kings. It has such beautiful architecture.
