So many places in Scotland would love to visit…my friend lives in England, another in Highlands,my mum used to buy Ortak jewellery from the Orkney Islands and would adore to see the ancient sites there and the puffins, surely the cutest birds ever and so clever…they can walk ,fly and swim! I can barely do one of those!
Then Edinburgh for the shows and the castle…where my great grand father was a guard during the first world war…
Glasgow for Rennie Mackintosh
Walter Scott and John Buchan’s museums and sites
Jessie! And more sites of beauty, lochs and mountains….
Haven’t even been out of India but would love to visit Scotland and Paris one day!❤
We went to Edinburgh a few years ago now for the The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and loved it! We went to The Royal Yacht Britannia and The Palace of Holyroodhouse and Holyrood Abbey. We also visited the National Museum of Scotland – so many great places to visit. Would highly recommend going to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
I am lucky as my son lives in Edinburgh so I visit regularly. We love to take the train across the Forth Rail Bridge as two of my great grandfathers were involved in the construction. My dream place to live is Oban – just love it.
I’ve been to Glasgow and loved the city and was made feel so welcome. The architecture is amazing.
I would love to visit! Edinburgh is high on my travel wish list.
I’ve been all over Scotland and love Perthshire the most. Especially Dunkeld and up to Pitlochry there are wonderful walks , scenery and local pubs.
We visited Edinburgh a couple of years back, it was so hot we had to buy sun cream!!!! Lovely city. We toured the Queens old ship, which is really interesting.
I went to Dundee in 1978 as a young girl and I loved the train ride from the NorthWest of England through Scotland. The scenery was magnificent, and the people were very friendly. I’d love to visit the Lochs, and to experience first-hand the beauty of the Highlands, and see the wildlife and the grandeur of the surroundings. I’d love to visit Edinburgh, and soak up the history there, and I’d like to visit the Moray Firth. Scotland is a magnificent country, rugged and steeped in history, with a wild and natural beauty, and although I’m now in my early 60’s, I’d love to visit again if I had the chance.
Back in the 1960s, I lived for a couple of years in Thurso, on the far North East coast of Scotland. I absolutely loved it there – the wild sea, the views over to the Orkney islands, the rolling wilderness of Caithness and the grandeur of Sutherland. From there I visited the Orkneys a couple of times but I would love to explore them more, and to head even further out to the Shetlands.
The Highland Fling organised by the Outlander crew – fantastic party!!
I have very fond memories of Edinburgh and exploring its fascinating history. In recent times I’ve been told about a place called Plockton by 2 different friends who do not know one another. 1 described it as Paradise and the other called it a Beautiful Jewel. I hope to get there this year.
There’s a loch, deep in the old forests of the Scottish Highlands, where I like to go to, string my hammock up between two Scots Pine trees and spend a few days. It’s just the most beautiful, tranquil and calm place, with a whole host of amazing wildlife surrounding me and the ever changing sky, the forest and the mountains reflected in the calm water of the loch.
Would love to go to the Highlands!
Love Scotland, amazing scenery. As a girl I can remember spending hours looking for a haggis which my grandad assured us existed.
Scotland is breathtaking, a few years ago we travelled up to Fort William by car and the scenery was stunning, so isolated and unpopulated, great for walking and the people were so friendly. Definitely will go back again.
I’ve only been to Scotland once to stay with friends. I made myself scarce every morning to not be in their way, took gentle walks around the local loch….such perfect silence. I’ve never known quiet like it.
I loved travelling on the train line between Fort William and Mallaig. The views across to the islands near the beautiful Morar beach were fantastic.
I have never been to Scotland by family have been and still talk about the amazing experience of touring this lovely region.
We have visited the trossocks,Edinburgh and it’s lovely castle.you can’t beat Scottish shortbread and a wee dram. I would love to visit loch Ness.
I adore Scotland, as a little girl I have very fond memories of staying in Edinburgh with my mum, in a hotel over looking the castle and nibbling on Scottish Rock. My favourite book is Greyfriars Bobby. My dad still goes to Scotland for holidays, I would love to see the puffins.
The Cnoc Freiceadain Long Cairns in Caithness is a favourite place to visit.
I’d like to visit Skara Brae and Stirling Castle and of course Loch Ness!
My daughter is living in Edinburgh, I love visiting!! Last summer we headed up the Highlands, it was superb. The highlight was driving along Glen Eteve, our photos are fabulous!
The only place I’ve been to in Scotland is Glasgow airport on a National Express bus!
I always think that I will save Scotland for when I can no longer get abroad!
I have always intended to go to the Edinburgh festival, but so far it hasn’t happened!
Visited Scotland many years ago – saw the Edinburgh Tattoo, Highland Games – visited a kilt making firm, etc. The only problem with the visit was the continual rain!
Edinburgh so I could see the views from Arthur’s Seat and meet the giant pandas in the zoo.
The Highlands – stunningly beautiful but keep an eye out for Nessie

I have never been but one of my nieces is studying at St Andrews so I’d like to go there at some point.
I was born in Scotland and lived there until I was 9, then moved to England. My fave place is Aviemore, the scenery is stunning x
I have been luck enough to go to the Highlands where the countryside is beautiful, the air is so fresh and clean. I love Blair Castle, and the magnificent Altholl Highlanders.
We have always wanted to visit Scotland but have not as yet! Would live to stay in a big house in the Highlands like Monarch of the Glen!
