#TFBookClub reads “Exquisite” set in the LAKE DISTRICT

19th August 2017

#TFBookClub September/October 2017

Our first three outings for the #TFBookClub have been a great success. We have been #OnLiteraryLocation with Rosanna Ley’s The Little Theatre By The Sea (SARDINIA), we have explored the sense of history in PRAGUE, reading Prague Nights by Benjamin Black, and we have been on a real adventure to CENTRAL AMERICA with Maile Meloy’s Do Not Become Alarmed.

Exquisite by Sarah Stovell is set in NORTHUMBERLAND and the LAKE DISTRICT. It was recommended as one of the top reads Summer of 2017!

#TFBookClub

Come and join us reading this book! It is a chilling, exquisitely written and evocative thriller set in the Lake District, centring on the obsessive relationship that develops between two writers. One already has it all, the other is drifting through life….

To get the ball rolling, the publisher has kindly offered the #TFBookClub a number of paperback copies (UK only) and a number of digital copies (via NetGalley) for those who prefer that format, and for those who are outside the UK.

If you would like to apply for a copy to read along with us during September and early October 2017, just leave a COMMENT below about your thoughts on the Lake District… it’s a beautiful part of the world!

Please tell us whether you prefer paper (UK only) or digital or either – by midnight, 31st August 2017. The first names out of the hat on SATURDAY 1st September 2017 will be sent copies by the publisher. After that we can all get stuck in and share our thoughts over the subsequent weeks.

We will be in touch at the beginning of September if you are one of our lucky readers! Don’t forget, applications close midnight, 31st August.

Thank you to Orenda Books for supporting the #TFBookClub.

I spent a wonderful few days break in the Lake District many years ago. The scenery was stunning, as were the walks and the tea shops! Please can I have a digital copy if I should win.

I love a paper copy and as a resident of the Lake District, I am obviously biased but it is a beautiful area.

I love the Lake District, the scenery is gorgeous and I really enjoy wildlife watching up there. Living in Manchester, it’s not too far way from me either.

We have only been through the Lake District to go to Scotland. The Westmoreland service station is a great midway stop off point. My preferred choice is paperback.

I love the lakes, particularly the Northern ones like Ullswater, spent a great deal of time there. Any books set in the area appeal to me and I would love to read this one.

I have never been to the Lake District, I am waiting until I can only manage UK coach holidays and will then go! 🙂
I would like to see the surroundings that inspired Beatrice Potter!

I love the Lake District and actually had my first honeymoon in Borrowdale in a tent!! I was very young and foolish then some 50 years ago! I have visited in a campervan and taken my grandson to see many of the beautiful lakes and mountains. My most recent trip was a weekend in a small hotel which was a birthday present from my son. Hopefully I will revisit before long taking my precious Wainwright walking guides with me.
