A book which is almost crying out for emotions

It consists of one short story after another – each holds one’s attention to an extraordinary extent. It spans most of the last century, and it succeeds in telling (often in a personalised way) the awful happenings of the Nazi period, probing, examining.The book succeeds in telling a story in an entirely new way for me, but it needs an expert, like this author to do it in a convincing way.
