Abuelaish was raised in a refugee camp in the Gaza strip and then trained as a doctor, devoting his life to medicine and to reconciliation. He crossed the Border on a regular basis treating people on both sides of the divide. Recently, his two daughters were killed by an Israeli attack and he now passionately promotes the notion of talk and communication to resolve the problem.
