I am a huge fan of Kate Atkinson’s work and this did not disappoint. It is a fascinating story about a girl who turns onto a woman who re lives her life, time after time with completely different experiences. New characters are introduced and you think ‘who is that?’ No senility is not setting in, stick with it because it becomes clear. It is set in London and Berlin during the Second World War and provides a contrast of life at that time with somewhere in semi rural England. It has a lot going for it, family dynamics, relationships, description and insight. This is a complex but well constructed book.
