A fun, light and entertaining read, Karl Pilkington is likeable and very readable. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant clearly enjoyed setting him up with random tasks on each of his trips to see the 7 modern wonders of the world and, despite his moaning, you come away believing that he did actually enjoy each of the trips in their own way. Ideal for reading on holiday or a long train trip as it’s not a book that takes long to read and is easy to dip in and out of. Also still worth reading if you’ve seen the linked TV program on Sky as it includes different observations on the trips. Having been to 5 of his 7 Wonders, it definitely made me want to see the remaining 2 and reminded me of good trips to the others.
