Only one in five finish. Then you are called a THRU walker. Even writer Bill Bryson took a taxi part way on the internationally challenging Appalachian Trail (A.T.)
It was the ‘void’a space that needed filling , that called Trevelyan Quest Edwards to the A.T.
Over five months, he wore out two pairs of boots as he walked the 2,184 mile trail northwards from Atlanta, Georgia to Mt Katahdin in Maine , U.S.A. to earn the title of THRU walker and was one of the few Australians to complete that year.
Edwards also experienced somethign totally unexpected; the magic of people who touched his life for no reason other than to be kind, truly ‘Trail Magic’.
