I enjoyed Crystal Hana Kim’s “If You Leave Me” a lot and would certainly consider reading it for a second time in a book club settings.

“If You Leave Me” is a richly told, deeply moving, and well-researched book set in 1950s Korea. I particularly enjoyed the different viewpoints the author offered. Kim succeeded with this not just to introduce the reader to the complexities of war and refugee life in 1950s Korea, but also how the main characters perceived the world around them in great detail.

At times heart breaking, this novel will stay with me for a while.
