“Why did you decide to set the book in Italy?”

I loved living in Italy (in my twenties) and writing about it was the perfect way to recapture some of that enjoyment. I hadn’t realised, until the success of my first book, quite how many other people loved Italy too. I need no excuse to set a story there and indulge in escapism.
