I thoroughly enjoyed this subtle crime mystery set against the beautiful South African Veldt.
The descriptions are so evocative, I felt as if I was there, driving along dusty unmade roads with the view of the sweeping countryside. The characters are likeable and believable and the story reads almost like a memoir. I wonder if it is part autobiographical, as the author obviously has first hand knowledge of this beautiful land and its people.
The mystery element builds slowly throughout the book reaching a conclusion that took me totally by surprise.
I would definitely read more books by this author.
