Brreslau, 1930s, the Nazis are rising to power, Eberhard Mock is an ambitious senior policeman who likes brothels. Mock is prepared to let a young Jewish girl become a morphine addict and prostitute, allows and her father to be killed. A very noir book indeed, and a gripping read.
