The Lost Orkney, 1

As the bell tolls, the hunt for a killer begins…

A reverend is found dead on the altar of St Magnus cathedral in Orkney, his white robes stained in blood. Every door into the building is locked – the keys are all still inside – so how was the murder committed?

Detective Inspector Jack McNaughton is assigned to the case. He recently moved with his young family back to the Orkney islands after a botched Edinburgh police operation, so this is his chance to prove that he still has what it takes to catch a killer.

In a community where everyone knows each other’s business, it isn’t long before rumour begins to spread. And when another body turns up, Jack finds himself at the centre of a nightmare, unlike anything he’s faced before.

Jack’s search for answers takes him on a dark journey into his own troubled past. And he soon begins to realise that if he can’t solve this mystery soon, he’ll lose everything – including the people he loves the most…
