A crudely dismembered body part is found at Lake Vyrnwy but DI Ruth Hunter and DS Nick Evans have little to go on to identify the victim. When a local man is reported missing, it seems that his links to heavy gambling and a Merseyside gang might explain his disappearance. Or could it simply be a marital dispute that made him want to leave town?
When the missing man is spotted at several locations, Ruth and Nick must discover if he is on the run and hiding out, or if a darker web of lies could explain the sightings.
