I think I put on a stone in weight just reading this book. But do not let this put you off. It is a fantastic introduction to Sicilian food. I started reading before my recent holiday in Sicily and then finished whilst I was there.
Matthew Fort is an excellent writer and portrayed the country, the people and it’s history really well. So it was a really good start to experiencing Sicily.

It includes reference to the cultural influence upon the food. I got a real sense of the people as well. I just had to go to Modica to get some of the chocolate.
