In a post-Trump America, well-intentioned President Adam Sukova struggles against a tide of challenges threatening not only to undermine his administration, but ultimately aimed at ending western democracy.

Taliban, Al-Qaeda, Dayesh/ISIS, Al-Hajab…these and other Islamic extremist organisations have sought to destabilise the West through violence over recent years, in retaliation for attacks by the west on their own territories and ideologies.

But death and destruction have only hardened attitudes against them. What if another tactic is being adopted…one that is much more insidious and strikes at the very heart of the White House? And one which has already infiltrated the highest echelons of government and national security….?

President Sukova can only trust one man – his Chief of Staff Jeff Stone – to help him try and stop the Islamic Jihad Movement and AAA (Americans Against America) uniting in their quest to bring down the administration and destroy American democracy.

Peter Isdell-Carpenter’s debut novel is a well-written, fast-paced page-turner, rooted in the author’s clearly detailed knowledge of US politics and life. Sure, it stretches the reader’s imagination a little, but we’re helped with the leap by some engaging characters linked to the President and his Chief of Staff.

And the twist at the end will leave your mouth wide open, yelling ‘that couldn’t happen’.

Could it….?
