Beautifully inspiring read, a totally different way of life!
- Book: An Elephant in My Kitchen: What the Herd Taught Me about Love, Courage and Survival
- Location: KwaZulu-Natal (Natal), South Africa
- Author: Françoise Malby-Anthony
This book is the true story of François, a french lady who moved to the South African bush 30 years ago with her husband. After her husband’s death she is suddenly responsible for a herd of elephants and a large game reserve. It was fascinating to learn so much about all the amazing animals there, and her way of life which seems just so far removed from anything I could ever imagine! South Africa was beautifully brought to life through the people, the animals and the language. Can highly recommend this book to anyone going there, or not! I would imagine it would also be a great read for anyone going on safari to Africa, as it is so interesting to know so many things about the animals!
