This is just the type of historical novel I love. Harris’ research is, as always, meticulous but he doesn’t just give his readers the bare bones of history. The Dreyfus affair shook France to her roots and this novel has all the pace and suspense of a thriller. Paris and the times are brought vividly to life. Highly recommended.
