Excellent sense of place and a great book club read

The sense of place, both in Mallorca and the Isle of Man, really makes you want to visit each of them, and there’s even a bit set in the Spanish part of the Pyrenees mountains in a place I’d never heard of that made me want to explore there.
It’s really good on friendship and certain types of family that I’m sure many of us have come across.
The book had me hooked from the first few pages, and the relatively short chapters make it easy to read. There’s a great twist at the end, which I didn’t foresee.
It keeps you guessing about the characters and their motivations throughout (an emotional roller coaster!) raising so many questions which I think would make it a great book-club read.
