Fascinating and enthralling – good history

  • Book: Leonardo’s Swans
  • Location: Ferrara, Italy, Milan
  • Author: Karen Essex

I am wondering why I have only just come across this book. It is especially relevant for the current Leonardo da Vinci exhibition at the National Gallery, London. It puts some of his paintings into historic context, with a bit of romance and local colour to boot. Really enjoyed it!
