Good book -not as good as others though!

The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns are two of my favourite books so I thought I would give And the Mountains Echoed a read. It started brilliantly and was extremely evocative of Afghanistan, which I loved. However as the book progressed, I found it difficult to follow the characters – at times a new chapter would start with character names which hadn’t been mentioned before, and it was not revealed until later in the chapter who these characters were. I found this rather frustrating. I would still recommend this book, although I feel it was not as good as the first two.
