This book starts of with quite graphic descriptions but quickly calms down and you are drawn in to the events which follow and are kept guessing who the murderer is almost to the end. Nesser writes in a most compelling way and most of the characters are believable – he doesn’t have the usual ‘nasty’ policeman which many crime novels do. I have enjoyed all his books so far and, although I was disappointed that the detective didn’t actually get to Greece, this is another well written book.
