Unusually for a Goddard book this story takes place in one location, Brighton, and the storyline doesn’t get waylaid by some of the “romp around the world” twists that some of his other books did. Also in a nice change, the timeline of the book is one week and we are treated to an almost diary-like narrative of the main character’s actions. (Rich Milligan)
