- Book: Across Many Mountains: three Daughters of Tibet
- Location: India, Switzerland, Tibet
- Author: Yangzom Brauen
We have a glimpse here of Tibet, before and after the Chinese occupation, that is unsentimental and down to earth. Yangzom Brauen has given us an informative and even surprising picture of a place and time that most readers will never see. I have been to Tibet six times and almost everything about the country described in Across Many Mountains was new to me’ –Literary Review
Tibet is a long way from democracy. The regime is still crushing, even if the internet has allowed more freedom and communication. Far away from their home, the family joins protests regularly, and lives in solidarity with other Tibetans in the diaspora. They live in hope that they will return to the village they fled two generations back, and they really believe that one day it will happen. (The Daily Telgraph)
