The Undesirables are the wives and children of the Dutch rebels fighting the British, 1899-1902. The wives and children were kept in camps and the story is told in flashback by Aletta Venter, a young farm girl, who was taken to one of these concentration camps along with her mother and siblings after their home and farmland were burned by British soldiers. A brief war but what an impact it had.
