Lead Review

  • Book: The Drago Tree
  • Location: Lanzarote
  • Author: Isobel Blackthorn

This is the story of Ann Salter, a geologist who goes to Lanzarote for some solitude and thinking time, now that her marriage has come to an end. An early flirtation doesn’t really blossom and then we meet Domingo, a potter and an islander, somewhat dour perhaps. It is a tenuous but interesting story of love and romance, set against an amazingly well depicted island – and took me straight back to my one trip to Lanzarote.
