The setting for this novel is Alaska, which has a natural darkness given the short days at certain times of the year. It is an isolated institution, storms rage and so it works well as a locked room thriller. One of fans of The Institution by Helen S Fields.

Dr Talbot is heading Hanover House, a super secure facility, populated with some of the worst serial killers known to man. Here she can study their ways first hand. Of course the locals have been very much against such a place within their community. Then a woman’s mutilated body is found and of course all eyes are on Hanover House. And on one person in particular.

There are all kinds of clues for her to peruse and she is fully aware of being confined with one person in particular who has caused her a lot of harm.

There are some good twists and turns along the way, with a tremendous sense of tension.
