Lead Review (Vanishing Girls)
- Book: Vanishing Girls
- Location: Pennsylvania
- Author: Lisa Regan
This is a fast-paced story that kept me hooked. Young women are disappearing and the novel opens with Isabelle Coleman and the search is on.
Josie Quinn is a detective and, yes, she has a backstory – she is currently ‘on leave’ and her marriage is coming to an end, but her husband is avoiding signing the papers. She is engaged to Luke – it all feels messy.
She happens to witness a car accident which fires her investigative juices. She is warned not get involved, given her current status, but this is a kick-ass woman who follows her nose.
Not only is Isabelle missing, but another girl turns up in an extremely traumatised state. Some parts of the book give voice to the missing girls which really round the story off. Ths novel has good pace and characters the reader can warm to.
