This book follows two timelines, modern day and 5 centuries previous. I really enjoyed learning more of the history of Granada and the Alhambra and it made me want to revisit now that I know a little more of the history.
The modern day story was also interesting and in that I enjoyed in particular the mentions of cous cous and mint tea. Again things that would make me want to revisit this fascinating region of Spain.
The only bit that irritated a little was the helpless nature sometimes of the female character.
All in all definitely a book I would recommend especially if you are making a trip to that part of the world.
