I read this book as part of my study of Malaga before my first trip to that city. In addition to presenting a rare peek into the lives of Malaga’s people in 1937, it is a heart wrenching love story. I read a lot of good books about Malaga by this author, it this one on the civil war days stands above.
Now that I’ve been to Malaga twice in the past year and walked on some of the same streets mentioned in the book, and passed by the Caleta Hotel, I am going to read this one again.
For anyone interested in Malaga or a personal view of the city’s civil war history, you will not be sorry to read this one.
