We stayed in Giverny for 2 nights on the almost obligatory visit to Monet’s abode and the galleries if you are in the area. We stayed at the mill! A fabulous B&B, wonderful owners and there is a zoo in the grounds alongside the stream.
Black Water Lilies took me back there instantly. It is a cleverly put together story, which I worked out. The only puzzle was the dog, Neptune. But, no spoilers. A recommended read if you are visiting and don’t be put off by the mention of tourists. We were made to feel welcome, although an early start to visit the Monet attractions is recommended. A visit to the graveyard a must. There is a monument to a plane shot down at the end of WW2.
