A small New England university

In spite of mentions of one of the characters spending his weekends gypsy-cabbing in Boston, and a fall-break trip to nearby Vermont, the setting doesn’t play a huge role in this book; still, the university is of a sort that will be familiar to people in Massachusetts.

The story itself is a pleasant m/m romance. I thought the characters were well-depicted. There was some comedy, not too broad. There is some real angst, as one of the characters is dealing with severe trauma. It was written with about the right degree of seriousness.
