I enjoyed reading this book and thought the writing and description brought to life the reality of living in Stalin’s times. The book takes us from 1919 almost up to the present and Montefiore certainly seems to know his history. I especially enjoyed the first two parts of this book and, although I enjoyed the third part, I did think it was a bit unbelievable. Will read more by this author.
