I’m fascinated by this period in history and The Year of Wonders didn’t disappoint. Geraldine Brooks manages to create a feast for the senses that may not always be pleasant but effortlessly conjures up life for Anna and the other village inhabitants during the plague year.

Beautifully written with vivid characters, The Year of Wonders is a moving and skillfully told story that will remain with you for quite some time.
