Like many women today, Kate has tried to manage work and raise children, and her emotions are in constant battle. She decides to give up her extraordinary job, and embraces the opportunity to start anew when her husband, Dexter, is offered a job in Luxembourg.
This thrilling tale explores Kate’s difficulties in developing her new life in a strange environment, whilst she lives with the secret of her past life. Her senses become on high alert as she believes that her recently acquired friends are deceiving her, but even more disturbing are the concerns she has about Dexter, and exactly what he does when he goes to work! The twists and turns in the evolving story keep the reader wondering whether another deception, or maybe truth, will appear on the next page.
The author cleverly uses comparisons with the USA and Luxembourg to help the reader to experience Kate’s new home. His vivid descriptions of place, and the atmospheres he creates, take the reader on a delightful journey not only to Luxembourg, but to many European places.
An excellent story of secrets, deception, and betrayal mixed together with the emotions and stresses of maintaining a family life. A thoroughly enjoyable!
