I really like this novel. And yes, unfortunately it’s a novel, and not historically factual. In my opinion is written very well, with many exciting characters, plots and twists. It vividly shows life at court in Englad during Henry VIII, through the eyes of Mary Boleyn, Anne Boleyns younger sister. The sisters have to compete and overcome the rumours, back stabbing, and romance of an English court. Love takes a back seat role in this historical drama, where the only thing marrying is for it to raise the status of the family. Its fascinating to see what a tudour life style would be like, and although the events are not historically factual, most of what is described is as it was during the period. This book is a great, in depth read into the lives of 2 famous sisters, and their struggle together. it does to some extent show how England was during the Tudor period. but i enjoyed the book more than i did its portrayal of England.
