If you are a fan of Mari Hannah and I am, you will be familiar with her wonderful character, Kate Daniels. but you will not find her in her latest book which introduces new characters, Sgt Mathtew Ryan, Special Branch and Eloise O’Neil who leads a Professional Standards team.
It is set around where I live and so I recognise the location and some of my favourite places like Bamburgh and Alnwick in Northumberland. I like to picture the places whilst reading.
This is a different story set in the north of England and Norway, there has always been strong links between the two with the ferry link. A Special Branch officer is set up, imprisoned and then abducted. His colleague, Ryan starts to unravel what is behind this with former colleagues from Special Branch and security forces. Its a page turner and an exciting read. I’m intrigued to know what happens between Ryan and O’Neil!
