Despite the rather “chic-lit” cover, this book takes the reader right into life in India under British Rule. Sapnagar Fort, the fictional fort in the novel, is based on real forts in Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Udaipur. I am gobsmacked that on the author’s own website she laments that when she took her manuscript to publishes she felt that “Indian settings are a hard sell” – from what I read I just cannot believe this, she just takes the reader into a long ago and exotic world. Can’t rate this highly enough if you want a bit of romance and a great, brought-to-life setting! – Jenna Williams –
