1940. Along with millions of other London residents 15 year-old Jack Riley is evacuated to the countryside to escape a city threatened by German bombs. Jack manages to escape farm life and return to London where he joins his father, an auxiliary fireman with ‘Blue Watch’. Despite his age, Jack works for the fire service as a bicycle messenger. Both he and Lilith, a German-Jewish refugee he befriends, will be tested as they experience the London Blitz at first hand.
