This book was first published in Bhutan in 2004. From the moment that DAWA was first introduced to readers inside and outside Bhutan, I have been pleasantly surprised and deeply humbled by the knowledge that this yellow-brown scruffy dog drew the interest and empathy of so many. Some readers have asked for a sequel to the book, but I have decided that Dawa will simply continue to sit in front of the Changangkha lhakhang in Thimphu and watch over the city he loves.
