Elgol, a young white-tailed eagle makes friends with a boy and two young otters all united in grief with the loss of parents.
They form a strong bond of friendship from which they embark on a series of adventures – making friends, saving lives, uncovering treasure and solving mysteries as well as having a lot of fun along the way – a modern day Famous Five!.
This is a delightful collection of individual stories which develops as the relationships between the characters develop.
Whilst fictional, it does have at its heart a good understanding of some of the pressures affecting wildlife in Scotland and Mull in particular. This book looks at some of the challenges affecting our natural environment but tackles then in a fun and engaging way.
The book contains illustrations which helps to bring the characters, the location and the storyline to life.
These adventures are set against the fabulous backdrop that is the wonderful Isle of Mull. The book features well known features on Mull and readers will take great delight in visiting many of these local landmarks – these tales will make you smile and inspire you to want to walk in their footsteps!
