After a dog walker discovers a man’s body in woodland, police identify the victim as Dr Scott Deeley, a GP who was liked and well-respected.
But it later emerges that, years before, he had been the subject of a General Medical Council complaint after misdiagnosing a schoolboy’s fatal illness.
Although exonerated, the boy’s parents never forgave the GP. and they are obvious suspects, along with several other individuals.
DS Sunita Roy is tasked with digging more deeply into the doctor’s world.
But, at the same time, she has to deal with the turmoil in her own life. She has learnt her police boyfriend is still involved with his ex-wife.
Two clues left behind by the doctor at his mother’s cottage, an expensive necklace and a bus ticket, eventually lead her on the trail of the killer in the woods.
