When sassy Edinburgh journalist Amy Thornton infiltrates an environmental activist group, little does she know how quickly she’ll scoop a story worthy of the front page.

A member of the group, who had moved clandestinely to the city after being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, is found murdered in her home.

All indications are it was a crime driven by jealousy, but DI Russell McCord is forced to back down from charging the obvious suspect. His mother is a high-profile lawyer who has a bite that promises to excel her bark, and friends in high places.
