The story of Grace Farringdon, who looks back on her life on the eve of the anniversary of the death of her friends. Growing up in early 1900’s Dulwich (South East London), Grace longs to escape her dreary life. Much to the chagrin of her family, she goes to University and becomes enthralled by the notion of mountaineering (in the wake of Shackleton’s exploits). To Wales and the Swiss Alps in a small group of women, this is the story of female friendship, jealousy, leadership and violence.
