I’d recommend the TV programme All Creatures Great and Small.
Would love to visit the Emmerdale set
I love York. I took my Dad on an overnight stay there for his birthday. Afternoon tea at Betty’s is a must and the ghost walk through York in the evening is a lot of fun.
One of my favourite places in Yorkshire is Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, it is a vast site and we can spend all day there and still not have seen everything – best on a dry day!
Take a trip to Filey on the Yorkshire East Coast, it’s like stepping back in time to an old fashioned seaside resort. Wonderful!
The most romantic place in the world for me is not one particular place but wherever I am with the love of my life and soul mate for over half a century. We both love Yorkshire. Two of our grandchildren were born in York, a lovely city to explore. We have also spent some great holidays camping on the North Yorkshire Moors and in the Yorkshire Dales.
I haven’t been to Yorkshire since I was a wee girl, I remember the coast was very nice and I spent a lot of time trying to find some Whitby jet to no avail. I’d love to go back there one day
Pontefract – taste the cake!
ive been to bettys tearoom a couple of times. its lovely

When my daughter was young we spent lots of holidays up in Pitlochry, one year we decided to take the journey back south in small steps. One of the Steps brought us to Richmond in North Yorkshire. After a quick visit to the Tourist Information Office they suggested we stay in the Shoulder of mutton Kirby hill, Richmond, DL11 7JH.I have never forgotten our 2 night stay, lovely friendly pub with excellent food. We also used one day to visit York by train, which we also greatly enjoyed.
i like going to Bettys teashop
the yorkshire dales is a great place to go walking
Not been but Yorkshire Dales look amazingly scenic! Tv show Heartbeat was a fave of mine (Nick Berry )

I’d love to go whale watching off the Yorkshire coast
I would love to visit York. My uncle lives there so maybe one day.
My home county! The best is the dales on a beautiful sunny day, nothing like it.
Harrogate. I have been a couple of times. a beautiful place. Need to save my penny’s to go to Betty’s Café Tea Rooms.
I love visiting Whitby
As a proud resident of North Yorkshire I can heartily recommend the beautiful coastline. Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay are stunning places to visit.
I would love to visit the Shambles
I have only visited York, and loved it, especially walking along the river
I love going to Matlock
I love Whitby! So beautiful. I visited as i have an interest in Bram Stoker. The abbey is a must to see and the views from the cliff are amazing!
York is such a great place to go with so much to see and do.

The best fish & chips at Harry ramsdens
Romance the moors
ive always wanted to go to the lake distrcit
I love York city – full of history, old buildings and plenty of places to visit and wonderful shops
Although I’m from London originally, I’ve lived in Yorkshire for the last 20 years and it really is beautiful. You can’t beat York for a place to stay that’s full of things to do but is also close enough to loads of other lovely places to visit. There’s lots of gorgeous towns: Knaresborough, Harrogate, Ilkley, Hebden Bridge, Haworth, Thirsk, Richmond, Beverley to name just a few. Also the coastline is beautiful and very long and there’s plenty to see and do in among others: Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay, Bridlington, Hornsea or the more lively Scarborough.
I love York and also Malham, its a beautiful place to visit
York is one of my favourites in the UK. History blends so well with nature and the whole vibe in town is joyous.
I lived in York for a while and enjoyed Jorvik viking centre and relaxing in the museum gardens always so pretty, the Shambles attracts so many visitors so not a place to hurry down and a nightmare for wheelchairs.
Completely enchanted by the various television programmes which are filmed in Yorkshire. Love the countryside, the old buildings and the people, too. Spent a couple of days visiting the city of York. It is steeped in so much history that I found it really fascinating.
I love Sleights just outside Whitby, we went back there last year x
Love to visit the beautiful city of York
The sahara desert when I met my husband
I live in Yorkshire and it is a fantastic place. Malham is one of my favourites.
I’d love to go to York and visit all the Tudor history spots
Camping in Appletreewick is lovely!
Love York, take a trip round Debtors Prison, What it was like in the old days, scary.
North Yorkshire is lovely abnd Middleham Castle well worth a visit
my daughter lives in York and so we visit her quite frequently, we love all the history and attractions in York and the surrounding area
I’d love to see Holmfirth where the lovely ‘Last of the Summer wine is set x
I love Yorkshire, I live there! It’s a beautiful place, I’d definitely recommend the Yorkshire coast.
I love Yorkshire, particularly York and Leeds. My brother lives in Horsforth, which is home to some great pubs and restaurants. It also has a lovely park with a Japanese garden.
York – so beautiful, and wandering through the Shambles is a must. Also, the Yorkshire people are so lovely and friendly and welcoming
I’ve never been to Yorkshire The nearest I’ve got is watching All Creatures Great and Small when I was growing up. Certainly a place to visit in the future with my dogs
I love in Yorkshire and my fav places to visit are on the coast, so Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby are great. I also like Spurnpoint as this nature reserve is just magical.
I think the most romantic place in the world is probably Paris.
The most romantic film for me is Notting Hill. I love it!
Ilkley has just been voted the best place to live in the UK – not sure I agree but living in a small village just three miles away from there is certainly fabulous!
With regards Yorkshire itself, my husband was living in Hunmanby, a small village, for work. In one week there had been a cannabis farm in a retirement bungalow, a ram raid on the coop cashpoint and an armed robbery at the post office. I always thought stories in Emmerdale were far fetched but doesn’t look like it.
With regards romantic places, we had a meal on our first holiday up on a hill overlooking Puerto Vallarta where Richard Burton had frequented. That was 25 yrs ago and we are returning this autumn. The most romantic thing my husband has done for me is, on his 50th birthday 10 yrs ago. We were booked for vegas for his birthday and as a surprise he booked to have our wedding vows renewed at the little white chapel with an Elvis singer singing at start and end. Sounds really tacky but it was better than our wedding. Three friends were there, one of which I didn’t know was coming on holiday. It was magic
Jane McDonald has just done a series called My Yorkshire which shows the best of the county
As a born and bred Yorkshireman I’m biased about the beauty and wonder of “God’s Own Country – YORKSHIRE! However, it’s those hidden away places off the Tourist Trail that I would recommend visiting. For example Goathland (‘Heartbeat’), Esholt (‘Emmerdale’) and Grassington (‘All Creatures Great And Small’). That’s not to say that Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby, for example, are not worth visiting because the “Bucket-and-spade-mob’ in their hoards will contradict this on most Summer weekends!
Despite being a Lancashire lass, I love Yorkshire, especially the Yorkshire Dales. The remote rural areas are absolutely beautiful but I am always fascinated by the town of Hawes, with not only a cheese factory but also a rope factory to visit. Seeing the rope being made always reminds me of my childhood, making twisted cord belts for my gonks from Mum’s left over knitting wool.
I have always wanted to visit a spa town and so Harrogate would be my destination of choice for the possible health benefits.
I watched Jane McDonald’s My Yorkshire on television and whilst she covered some beautiful places, there were so many more that I would have liked to have seen televised. I love York and of course, places like Whitby, Bridlington and Scarborough, but all of Yorkshire is so beautiful from towns like Harrogate, Doncaster, Leeds, Halifax, Sheffield to name a few to the small villages like Staithes, Malton, Kettlewell. A place of culture and history, beautiful coastline and wonderful nature. I would love to visit all of it.
