Three women take the same Eurostar to Paris for a girls’ trip, but take separate trains back. What happened that weekend? A thought-provoking and gripping novel about trying to hold on to friendships when you start to grow apart.
Three best friends. A weekend away. And a whole lot of baggage.
Alice, Nina and Jules have been best friends for twenty years. They met in Paris and return there once a year, to relive their youth, leave the troubles of home behind, and indulge in each other’s friendship and warmth. But this year, aged thirty-nine, the cracks in their relationships are starting to show…
After their weekend together in Paris, the three women never speak again. Each claims the other two ghosted them. But is there more to the story?
The author has written a lovely piece for our #TalkingLocationWith… feature, which you can read here

If you take a trip on one of the Bateaux Mouches down the Seine, try and do so after dark when all the lights are on. Very beautiful and very romantic.

Paris, the best night,…
Walked away from my wonderful boyfriend and ended up in the most wonderful neighbourhood cafe with a sultry drag queen and her entourage. We shared what we had and had the greatest night until dawn. Sorry boyfriend………..

A brief visit when I was backpacking. I love shopping and window shopping while in foreign cities as it is a great way to discover art, craft and culture. I recall a rather rude shop worker who did not appreciate me browsing but not buying.
I enjoyed the Louvre but it was too busy to take the time to stand, stare and soak up the beautiful art (same for all cities if visiting during school summer holidays). Another visit off-season would be great.
you’ve got to have a boat ride on the river – a nice gentle journey that allows you to see so much of central Paris by the riverside
I only went when I was 11 on a school trip, and my highlight was seeing a mummified cat in a museum window! I suspect my highlight as a 41 year old might be something more romantic!
